I never did have too many male friends. I always felt awkward and just not know how to act around them. There was only a few and one of them I had in 3rd grade. I became friends with him after he asked me to hold his hand at the Skate Rink during a partner skating session. I was shocked because nothing like this has ever happened to me before! He was really cute and after that, I was hooked. He gave me his phone number at the end of that school year and during the summer, with my best friend telling me that I had to call him back, I did. We ended up talking a lot on the phone. I guess I wanted him to be my boyfriend, and I probably think he liked me as a girlfriend but I was in 4th grade. I had no idea so we just played four square or two square during recess and just said hi to each other everyday. We kept in touch until middle school and then lost track. We met up again by accident in college because I saw him by pure chance, but by that time we had nothing in common. It was kind of sad and made me think more about friendships.
I only have one guy friend in my life that I am really close to and he's my husband. It's still a mystery to me how men and women can be friends without being in a relationship.
*Best Friends Forever*
Writing with pen and paper is disappearing, especially with children now that the internet and smart phones have taken over. (Think about the last time you sat down with paper and pen?) I wanted to share some of my crazy and sometimes funny writings from when I was a kid as well as my letters from my best friend Jennifer who I have now been friends for 20 years.

Getting back into Business
I found some more letters and will start posting them so stay tuned. I am slowing uncluttering my home and so the more items I find, the more I will post.
Also now that I have a better way to scan and an easier way to update posts, I'll be more diligent!

Once upon a time there lived an old person, he was so old he died
I found a few writings of mine that I wrote and found and boy....are they interesting. Take a look for yourself. These were assignments done for class and the teacher reads it and grades them. Some of them, they comment.
This is my letter of what happens after the Apocalypse. About the married part...I was really anti-marriage then and thought I would live as a spinster.

Letter to myself
I found this letter tucked away in one of my many boxes after I moved and I was like....this handwriting looks familiar....oh wait, it's mine. And why is it addressed to me? Well thinking back, in English 101 Class back in college, the TA had us do a project and it was to write to ourselves a year from then and give advice etc. Here is what I wrote and...man...why didn't I listen to myself back then...sheesh, I could have saved myself lots of emotional turmoil but I was not ready and couldn't have understood then what I know now. Well I still abide by these rules and it's led me to this wonderful life that I have now. I was pretty right on even 12 years ago.

Snowmageddon
Due to the fact that it's Snowmageddon here in Seattle, I found a letter I wrote way back where....it snowed! And yes I had a hamster named Phoebe (pronounced Pho-Be, like phobia. I thought that was a real name back then and used it during a book report and the teacher thought I was nuts).

Singing Witch Termite
I had to post this one. This one made me laugh out loud even now reading it like 18 years later. BTW, the schedule that is posted is for what we were going to do when I visited. Yes as you can see, we had to call our moms at least 3 times that day. My parents were super paranoid. If I even mentioned that we were going to go outside, I wouldn't have been able to visit Jennifer and my visit would have been canceled. True story, there were so many times when our play dates got canceled. One of the main reasons was my dad having a bad dream the night before. If he dreamed of a woman or anything he felt was negative, I was not allowed to go outside the house the following day. True Story!
